Do Not Travel Through Life Spiritually Asleep
You need to stop living as though the spiritual world is neutral. Scripture does not describe humanity as standing in an empty middle ground where nothing spiritual is happening. It presents two kingdoms in conflict: the kingdom of God and the kingdom of darkness. Colossians 1:13 says that God “hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son.” That means there is a real difference between belonging to Christ and remaining under darkness. The testimony behind this warning describes an organized occult system working together under satanic influence, with assignments, cooperation, monitoring, and deliberate attempts to cause destruction. Those specific details belong to the testimony itself, but the broader biblical warning is clear: Satan is not presented in Scripture as harmless, imaginary, or inactive. First Peter 5:8 says, “Your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour.” If you belong to Jesus Christ, you should not become terrified, but you should become serious. There are two sides in this battle. One side serves darkness, rebellion, deception, destruction, occult power, and Satan. The other side belongs to Jesus Christ. You cannot serve both. Jesus said in Matthew 6:24, “No man can serve two masters.” Eventually, your allegiance will show in what you obey, what you practice, what you trust, what you tolerate, and what controls your life. This is why Christians must stop treating spiritual warfare like a distant subject reserved for pastors, prayer warriors, or people who have dramatic experiences. Ephesians 6:11 says, “Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.” That command is for believers. You are being told to stand because opposition exists. The whole armour of God is not decoration. Truth matters because deception is one of the enemy's weapons. Righteousness matters because secret sin weakens your spiritual life. Faith matters because fear can make you collapse before anything even happens. The Word of God matters because lies are exposed by truth. Prayer matters because a prayerless Christian becomes spiritually careless. Salvation matters because your confidence must be rooted in Christ, not in charms, rituals, feelings, or superstition. You should wake up spiritually. Do not travel carelessly. Do not live carelessly. Do not sleep every night without prayer and wake every morning without acknowledging God. Do not move through life assuming that because you cannot see spiritual activity, nothing is happening. At the same time, do not become obsessed with demons. Your focus must remain on Jesus Christ. Spiritual warfare is not about spending your entire life hunting darkness. It is about standing so firmly in Christ that darkness does not control your decisions. James 4:7 says, “Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.” Notice the order. Submission comes first. You cannot live deliberately in sin, refuse correction, reject holiness, and then expect spiritual authority because you know how to shout the name of Jesus. If you are on God's side, live like it. Pray. Obey. Forgive. Walk in truth. Reject sexual sin. Reject occult practices. Reject dishonesty. Reject bitterness. Reject pride. Keep your conscience clean before God. The enemy wants Christians weak, distracted, prayerless, divided, and spiritually asleep. If he cannot make you abandon Christianity completely, he may be satisfied if you become a Christian only in name. Someone who attends church but never prays, never studies Scripture, never resists temptation, and never thinks about eternity is easier to distract than someone whose life is grounded in Christ. That is why Ephesians 6:12 says, “For we wrestle not against flesh and blood.” Your greatest enemy is not another human being. Do not become so focused on people that you forget the spiritual battle. Darkness can use fear, temptation, hatred, greed, deception, lust, occultism, division, and pride to pull people away from God. And the kingdom of darkness is not the only organized kingdom. God has His people. The Church belongs to Christ. Believers are not helpless individuals scattered in fear. First Peter 2:9 calls believers “a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people.” If you belong to Jesus, you belong to His kingdom. You are called to stand with other believers, pray for one another, encourage one another, warn one another, and refuse to let darkness isolate you. That means one Christian should strengthen another. A praying believer should not mock a weaker believer but help them grow. A pastor should equip people for spiritual maturity. Parents should teach their children to pray. Christians should pray before journeys, before decisions, before work, and during ordinary life, not because prayer is a magic formula but because dependence on God should be normal. The testimony describes attacks being turned back when Christians prayed. Whether or not every specific event should be interpreted that way, Scripture does teach that faith is a shield. Ephesians 6:16 says, “Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.” That image is powerful. The enemy attacks, but believers are not told to surrender. They are told to stand. You should also understand that Christian protection does not mean believers will never suffer physical harm. Scripture records faithful believers who experienced persecution, hardship, imprisonment, and even death. Your confidence is not that nothing painful can ever happen to you. Your confidence is that you belong to Christ, and nothing can separate you from His love. Romans 8:38-39 declares that neither death, nor life, nor principalities, nor powers can separate believers from the love of God in Christ Jesus. That is stronger than fear. Even if trouble comes, you are still His. But do not use that truth as an excuse for spiritual laziness. You still need prayer. You still need discernment. You still need holiness. You still need the Word. You still need the armour. You still need to stand. This world contains great evil. People knowingly practice occultism. People seek power from forbidden spiritual sources. People use influence, money, sexuality, manipulation, and secret practices to serve darkness. Scripture warns strongly against these things. Deuteronomy 18 condemns occult practices because God does not want His people seeking power from another kingdom. If you have been involved in occultism, you cannot keep one foot in darkness and one foot in Christ. Repent. Renounce what is evil. Break with forbidden practices. Do not keep charms, rituals, secret covenants, or spiritual agreements because you are afraid of losing protection or success. Jesus Christ is Lord. If you are already a Christian, stop behaving as though being baptized, attending church, or knowing Bible verses means you can sleep spiritually. The battle requires endurance. The devil does not need to make you an occultist if he can make you careless enough to destroy yourself through sin. The day every argument dies is coming. On that day, you will not be asked whether darkness existed. You will answer for which kingdom you belonged to. If you serve Christ, serve Him fully. If you have been playing with darkness, come out. If you have been spiritually asleep, wake up. If you have stopped praying, return. If your armour has been lying unused while you live carelessly, put it on again. You are not called to fear Satan. You are called to stand in Jesus Christ. Heavenly Father, I come to You through Jesus Christ, Your Son. I confess that I need Your mercy and Your protection. Forgive me for every sin, every compromise, every careless decision, and every place where I have opened my life to darkness. I renounce Satan, occult practices, deception, sexual sin, pride, rebellion, and every work of darkness. Make me fully Yours. Clothe me with the whole armour of God. Help me to stand in truth, righteousness, faith, salvation, Your Word, and prayer. Keep me spiritually awake and teach me to resist the devil while remaining submitted to You. Strengthen every true believer to stand together in Your kingdom and not be overcome by fear or deception. If I have never truly surrendered my life to You, save me now. Wash me with the blood of Jesus Christ, write my name in the Book of Life, and help me remain faithful until the end. In Jesus' Name, AMEN.
