You May Be Living in the Last Space of Grace
One day will be your last day on earth, and on that day you will discover whether you used the grace God gave you or wasted it. You keep thinking there is still time. You keep saying you will repent later, return later, obey later, make things right later, become serious later. But what if the “later” you keep trusting is already the little space of grace God has given you? What if you are already living inside the final mercy you keep postponing? And on that day, you will see the reality of realities. You may look at your life and think everything is normal. You wake up, go to work, make money, attend church, plan for tomorrow, and assume there will always be another chance. But grace should never make you careless. Grace is not proof that God is ignoring your sin. Grace may be the reason judgment has not yet fallen. Grace may be the reason you still have breath. Grace may be the reason you still have another opportunity to repent. Do not play with that mercy. If you are backslidden, return now. If you have left your first love, return now. If you know what God told you to stop but you keep doing it, stop now. If you know what He told you to do but you keep delaying, obey now. Do not keep saying tomorrow. Tomorrow has deceived many people. Revelation 2:4–5 warns about leaving your first love and calls you to repent and do the first works. That warning is personal. It is not only for a church in history. It is for you if your heart has become cold, careless, distracted, or comfortable with sin. And be careful with money. You cannot steal and call it blessing. You cannot take what belongs to God and treat it as your own. You cannot be dishonest with money and still tell yourself that your spiritual life is fine. If money has become more important to you than obedience, something is wrong. First Corinthians 6:10 warns that thieves will not inherit the Kingdom of God. That is not a small statement. You may call it a small amount. You may say everybody does it. You may say God understands. But if God has convicted you, stop arguing with Him. If you have taken what is not yours, make it right. If you have handled money dishonestly, repent. If you have become greedy, repent. If you have learned to use church language while your heart is controlled by money, repent. One day, the things you chased will not matter. The account balance will not matter. The house will not matter. The car will not matter. The title will not matter. The respect of people will not matter. What will matter is whether you were ready to meet Jesus. There is a day coming when the invitation will end. There is a day coming when the waiting will end. There is a day coming when your final opportunity will have passed. You may not know when that day is, but you know it is coming. That is why you must live ready. Do not wait until your deathbed to become serious. Do not wait until your strength is gone before you suddenly want to obey. Do not wait until your final moments to ask for one more chance. One day, your breathing may become weak. Your family may stand around you. Your phone may still have messages. Your plans may still be unfinished. Your money may still be in the bank. Your clothes for tomorrow may still be hanging somewhere. But if your time is over, your plans cannot call you back. And then you may remember every warning you ignored. Every time God told you to return. Every time conviction came. Every time you said, “Later.” Every time you chose money over obedience. Every time you knew you were drifting but refused to turn. Why wait until then? Second Peter 3:9 says that the Lord is longsuffering, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. His patience is mercy. His patience is not permission. You should be afraid of becoming so familiar with grace that you stop responding to it. Grace says, “Come back.” Grace says, “Repent.” Grace says, “Return to your first love.” Grace says, “Make it right.” Grace says, “Wake up.” Grace says, “Prepare.” Do not silence that voice. There is also a wedding coming. Scripture speaks about the marriage supper of the Lamb. Revelation 19:7 says, “Let us be glad and rejoice, and give honour to him: for the marriage of the Lamb is come, and his wife hath made herself ready.” Notice that word: ready. Not almost ready. Not planning to get ready. Ready. Are you ready? If Christ came today, would you be ready? If your heart stopped tonight, would you be ready? If this day became your last day, would you be ready? Do not answer too quickly. Look at your life. Look at your secret life. Look at your obedience. Look at your relationship with God. Look at your money. Look at your honesty. Look at your first love. Look at the sins you keep defending. Look at the things you keep postponing. Then answer. You may be living in a space of grace right now. Do not waste it. Return while you can. Repent while you can. Make things right while you can. Love God again while you can. Obey while you can. Prepare while you can. One day, the opportunity will be gone. And on that day, you will see the reality of realities. If you know you are not right with God and you want to surrender your life to Jesus Christ, pray sincerely from your heart: “Heavenly Father, I come to You in the Name of Jesus Christ. I admit that I am a sinner and I cannot save myself. I believe that Jesus Christ died for my sins and rose again. Lord Jesus, forgive me, wash me with Your blood, and have mercy on me. I repent of my sins and turn away from my old life. Come into my life and be my Lord and Savior. Give me the strength to obey You, follow You, and live for You from this day forward. Write my name in the Book of Life and help me to remain faithful to You until the end. Thank You for saving me. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”
